This past summer, I interned at New Silk Route Advisors, a $1.4B Private Equity fund, in Mumbai, India. I chose this role because it (I) was in my desired field of interest, (II) exposed me to emerging markets and (III) gave me an opportunity to live abroad and experience a new culture. Emory’s Center for Alternative Investments played a critical role in helping introduce me to the firm and, ultimately, secure the internship. Through Goizueta’s core business classes and alternative investments classes, I was more than prepared for the internship.
The experience was more than just Private Equity as well. On the weekends, I traveled around to many parts of India and other surrounding countries. My favorite trip was to Nepal, where I took a propeller plane around Mt. Everest. The internship and travel opportunities in India were amazing experiences.
