The below post is by Nicholas Tarnoff, a Class of 2014 MBA and Finance Concentration.
Last week UBS’s Investment Banking recruiting team visited GBS to recruit from the wealth of talent in the MBA program. The UBS recruiting team at the session was comprised of three GBS Alums, current Second Year Scott Weiner and UBS recruiting coordinator Jessica Swanderski.
The UBS team offered many insightful thoughts about the bank and the recruiting process to a large group of eager MBA students and spent some time answering questions informally after the presentation. It was great to get the one-on-one time to formally introduce yourself with the people who will be crucial in the decision making process.
As a testament to the open dialogue in the room, Scott Weiner (2012 Summer Intern and MBA13) spoke candidly with his fellow MBA students about his summer experience at UBS and his exposure to deal flow during the summer associate program. Additionally, the recruiting team commented on what makes the Investment Banking industry so appealing, saying that because of the dynamic nature of the business, no two days are the same and there is always a fresh challenge that can provide for new learning. Mr. Weinberg, the presentation lead, iterated that UBS is in the business of developing unique solutions for their clients and to create value through good advice and honest relationships.
