Here’s the Nicaragua crew (L to R) Peter, Ellen, Karen, Kore, Kelly, Ty (me), Ben and Peden! We went into Los Robles to field a focus group with the community to learn what health services are available and what services are needed. The overall goal is to assess the opportunity to build a health clinic.
Los Robles Focus Group – We break the crowd of 40 or so people into groups and they proceed to discuss the available and needed health resources in the community. The engagement level is really high and participation is excellent.
Nacatamale – To close out was has been a great day each of us gets to make a “Nacatamale” a tamale which is corn meal, pork or veg, tomatoes, onions, rice and potatoes and mint wrapped in a giant banana leaves. This meal cooks overnight for 15 hours and is eaten for breakfast normally on weekends. Happy.
