Evening extras: How do I get involved at Goizueta?
Are extracurriculars available to evening students? Yes! The Goizueta Business School Evening MBA (EvMBA) program has extracurriculars dedicated to evening students as well as options to join clubs with full-time MBA students. Extracurriculars include student government (Evening MBA Business Association), academic and professional groups, cultural groups, and other activities. Involvement outside of the classroom and with groups has enriched my experience and relationships at Emory. Here is a taste of what I’ve had a chance to be involved in to help inspire you:
- Delta Leadership Coaching Fellows: Coach a group of incoming first-year EvMBA Work with new students and fellow coaches to hone your leadership and mentorship skills. What I valued about the experience: I learned to ask more thoughtful, open-ended questions and the value of allowing silence to breathe (let people think through questions and feedback before continuing the conversation!).
- Evening MBA Business Association – Vice President of Career Management: Help your fellow students build their careers by collaborating with the student government team, your cohort, and the career center. What I valued about the experience: Giving back to my cohort, building closer relationships with fellow cohort leaders and the program office and career center teams.
- Goizueta Nonprofit Consulting Club: Build your experience in consulting and volunteer to consult on a project for a local nonprofit—help to create solutions! What I valued about the experience: Using my consulting skills to provide guidance to a local nonprofit in an area I didn’t have previous experience in, building my relationships with fellow evening as well as full-time students.
