SEMESTER SERIES : LAUREN KNIGHT – The End of Block Two!
I can’t believe we are already into Block 3. This semester has flown by and I have learned so much in all of our classes, about my classmates, and about myself and what I want to focus on in my career. Blocks 1 and 2 are supposedly the most stressful times of our entire MBA experience, and we have finally made it through!
After the end of Block 2 exams, Goizueta had a Halloween party at Sweetwater Brewery. It was so fun to connect and de-stress with classmates, second-years and friends and family – and see all of the great costumes.
The week following exams and the Halloween party was Career Week. The Career Management Center offered a variety of workshops on campus focusing on cover letters and behavioral interviewing, but the highlight was the Career Treks that students attended all over the country – including going to New York, Seattle and San Francisco. Since I want to stay in Atlanta after graduation, I attended the Atlanta Marketing Trek. We got to visit some great companies including Chick-Fil-A, BBDO, Kimberly-Clark, The Weather Channel, and Prophet Consulting. Going to visit the offices and meet with representatives and alumni was a great way to learn the culture of a company and find out where I would fit in best. The next few weeks will be very busy with additional company presentations, phone chats with alumni, and submitting cover letters and resumes to target companies.
