What makes Atlanta such a great place to earn an MBA?
Growing up in Atlanta, I experienced the vibrant qualities that make this city the cultural capital of the South. Atlanta is the perfect place for graduate school due to its excellent opportunities and great environment. With over a dozen Fortune 500 companies headquartered here and the city’s rapid growth in technology, finance, media, and healthcare, Atlanta is an ideal city to network and lay down roots for the future.
Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of Goizueta Business School’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you?
The most important factor in choosing Emory University’s Goizueta Business School was its small-by-design class size. Making connections and networking are key elements of business school, and the opportunity to interface personally with professors and faculty is invaluable. This intimate setting allows for a more tailored approach with the Career Management Center, which wouldn’t be as accessible at larger business schools.
What course, club, or activity excites you the most at Goizueta?
I am most excited to join the Goizueta Energy and CleanTech Association due to my background in engineering and nuclear energy. The members I have met so far are impressive in their breadth of knowledge and backgrounds. Nuclear energy fascinates me, and I hope to contribute to its growth in the future of this country. This will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with students who share similar goals.
What is your unique quality that will enable you to make a big contribution to the Class of 2026? Why?
My background in engineering and military service will enable me to make a significant contribution to the Class of 2026. Working in the Department of Energy at the Savannah River Site has honed my critical thinking and project management skills. Combined with the leadership skills developed during my time as an officer in the military, I bring a unique perspective to the class.
Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far:
Graduating from Air Force pilot training is my greatest accomplishment. Learning to fly jets in formation in the T-38 was incredibly challenging and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve in the military and for this significant achievement.
Looking ahead two years, what would make your MBA experience successful?
I would consider my MBA experience successful if I fully utilized the resources that Goizueta offers, mastered a body of financial knowledge, and leveraged the support from the Career Management Center, faculty, and networking connections. Engaging deeply with all that the program has to offer will be key to my future business career success.
