What initially drew you to Goizueta Business School? What unique aspects of Goizueta’s culture, curriculum, or community made it stand out from other business schools you considered?
Having gone to Emory College of Arts and Sciences for undergrad, I was familiar with Goizueta Business School based on its campus presence. I knew of its stellar reputation, innovative approaches, and abundant opportunities. That, combined with the chance to be a part of an inaugural cohort that I could really help shape in a program I was passionate about, was all the convincing I needed. It also didn’t hurt that Atlanta is one of my favorite cities, so I was happy to stay longer.
What has been your most memorable experience during your time at Goizueta?
This semester, my cohort classmates all have very different schedules on Thursdays, so our program director, the lovely Anna Gibbons, found an alternative time to host our own little “KEGS” (Keeping Everyone at Goizueta Social) so we can all still get together. Having a mentor who goes to such lengths for us and classmates who stay weekly just to hang out as friends is my favorite Goizueta experience.
How has your Goizueta education prepared you for your next career step?
If there’s one thing I feel as though my time at Goizueta has done to prepare me to move forward, it would be increasing my collaborative skills and confidence. By working with so many different thinkers across groups, I have really come to value the possibilities of teamwork, organization, and cooperation and have seen the astronomical impact that can have on work output. Looking to go into a project management role, I know these skills will come in handy.
What advice would you give to incoming students in your program?
Take all of the opportunities given to you. There are so many people and resources to help you, so many classmates with a lot to offer, and so many fantastic experiences you’ll regret not taking.
How do you plan to stay connected with the Goizueta community after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to stay connected to Goizueta through alumni networks, keeping in touch with staff and classmates who have made an impact on me, and coming back to visit when I can!
What are your long-term career goals, and how do you see yourself making an impact in your chosen field?
Long-term, I want to serve in a high up, organizational management role for an established company. My dedication to company culture, team building, value-based work, and organization will help me make an impact in my role.
