What initially drew you to Goizueta Business School? What unique aspects of Goizueta’s culture, curriculum, or community made it stand out from other business schools you considered?
I was drawn to Goizueta Business School because of its strong emphasis on principled leadership, close-knit community, exceptional faculty, and the opportunity to make a real impact on the broader community.
Growing up in Dhaka, Bangladesh, I attended a small school with a graduating class of just 40 students. I’ve always valued intimate academic settings where deep relationships can be built, and Goizueta offered exactly that. Unlike larger MBA programs, Goizueta fosters an environment where students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and actively shape their experience. I wanted to be in a place where I could create and lead initiatives, form meaningful relationships, and be surrounded by mentors and peers who were equally invested in my growth.
Beyond the community, Goizueta’s location in Atlanta—one of the nation’s fastest-growing business and technology hubs—was a key factor. As an active alumnus of Georgia State University and someone deeply involved in FinTech Atlanta and the Technology Association of Georgia, I saw Goizueta as the perfect bridge between academic learning and real-world impact. The school’s strong ties to the business community, its focus on experiential learning, and the flexibility of its curriculum allowed me to tailor my Two-Year MBA experience to my professional aspirations.
From the moment I stepped on campus and interacted with the community, I knew Goizueta was the right place for me. The people, culture, and opportunities have not only met but exceeded my expectations. A special shoutout to Full-Time MBA Program Dean Brian Mitchell, whose leadership, mentorship, and support have been invaluable in my MBA journey.
What has been your most memorable experience during your time at Goizueta?
One of my most memorable experiences has been launching Taking Flight: A Goizueta Leadership Series, a student-led initiative designed to bring high-impact leadership discussions to the MBA community. Seeing this idea come to life — connecting students, faculty, and industry leaders for meaningful conversations — was an incredibly fulfilling experience for our entire team.
What made it truly special was the overwhelming support from the Goizueta community. From building a student team, securing buy-in from the MBA Program Office, and enlisting speakers like Gardiner Garrard (Co-Founder & Managing Partner of TTV Capital) to leading marketing, logistics, and engagement strategies, this initiative was a testament to what a motivated group of students can accomplish. We had a bold vision, and, with the unconditional support of the community, we successfully brought it to life.
Another highlight was creating the Goizueta Champions League, a competitive and fun cross-cohort sports competition that strengthens our MBA culture. Every spring, the first-year and second-year classes compete in a series of sports to claim the Goizueta Champions League trophy — and, of course, bragging rights. This initiative has been one of the most effective ways to build relationships across cohorts, bringing students together through friendly competition. It was a powerful reminder that leadership isn’t just about professional development — it’s also about fostering community in ways that go beyond traditional networking events.
How has your Goizueta education prepared you for your next career step?
Before coming to Goizueta, I was advancing quickly in my consulting career, but I started to feel less confident in my technical and leadership skills as I progressed. I knew I needed an MBA program that would challenge me, refine my leadership approach, and strengthen my ability to drive strategic impact at an executive level.
Goizueta has provided me with the strategic, financial, and leadership skills necessary to take my career to the next level. The coursework, combined with hands-on experiences like the IMPACT Program, the Venture Capital Investment Competition, and my multiple in-semester internships, has given me deep exposure to strategy, investing, and innovation.
Beyond academics, Goizueta’s emphasis on principled leadership has been transformative. I have participated as a Leadership Coaching Fellow and Impact Coaching Fellow while pursuing a Directed Study focused on peer leadership. Through initiatives like Taking Flight, the Champions League, and serving as a Student Fund Manager for the Peachtree Minority Venture Fund, I have been able to apply leadership principles in real time. Post-graduation, I plan to continue working at the intersection of finance, strategy, and innovation. My education at Goizueta has given me the confidence, network, and skill set to create meaningful change in this space.
What advice would you give to incoming students in your program?
Your MBA experience is what you make of it. Take ownership of your journey. If you see an opportunity to create something meaningful, don’t wait for permission — build it and ask for help along the way.
Also, develop genuine relationships. The Goizueta community is incredible, and the friendships you make here will be just as valuable as anything you learn in the classroom. Some of my closest friendships were formed in this program, and while I’m grateful for them, they will also be the reason I go broke attending weddings all around the world!
Finally, challenge yourself and embrace failure. Take the hard courses, step into leadership roles, and push past your comfort zone. Growth happens when you embrace discomfort, and an MBA is the perfect place to test yourself in new ways.
How do you plan to stay connected with the Goizueta community after graduation?
Goizueta has given me so much, and I plan to give back in every way I can.
I intend to stay engaged through mentorship, advising student organizations, and supporting career initiatives that help future students succeed. As a Board Member of the Technology Association of Georgia’s FinTech Society and someone embedded in the Atlanta startup and investment ecosystem, I want to serve as a bridge for Goizueta students looking to enter these industries.
Whether that means mentoring students, creating internship opportunities, or organizing alumni-student networking events, I want to ensure the next generation of Goizueta leaders has access to the best opportunities. Additionally, I hope to stay involved in Taking Flight and the Goizueta Champions League, ensuring that these programs continue to grow and thrive.
